I would recommend picking up a fuzzy fringy rug before launching the roomba.

I behaves the same way a regular vacuum would if you come in from the wrong angle. I can always cut off the fringe but i didn t really want to. For area rugs with longer tassels fold the tassels under the carpet. Your robot vacuum would most likely have a hard time dealing with carpet fringes especially if they are longer than a few inches. Plush area rugs can be comfortable to walk on but they often act as a traps for a robot vacuum. As long as the strands on the carpet aren t long it should work fine.
